Background
Increase the visibility for drivers.
Solution
Dynamic lane system in Los Angeles on the iconic I-110, operated by Caltrans (California Department of Transportation), the world’s largest traffic authority. Installed in 2009. The system uses Smartstud intelligent LED on-road markers. The ONROADLED system delineates lanes and also transmits data that will help induce the switch from one lane to two, including sending messages to electronic roadway signs to alert motorists of the lane operation.
