Background
With pedestrians using smartphones and headphones it presents a new risk for level crossing users as they are not paying attention to their surroundings and could be caught unaware of approaching vehicles, trams, or trains.
Solution
The on-road LED markers are linked to the traffic light system to illuminate pedestrian crossing areas. The system has been used at tram and rail crossings, as well as pedestrian malls and signalised intersections.
